Car Servicing

Regular car servicing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to ensure that you get consistent reliability for your car. A good service history can also help maintain your car’s resale value and reduce running costs by making sure that your engine is running smoothly and preventing future damage..

At ATS Euromaster we provide the following services:

Standard Car Service

A standard service is recommended annually or every 10,000 miles- depending on which comes first. The service involves a 50 point check which includes an engine oil change as well as full brake and tyre inspections. These checks can help ensure that some of your car’s most important fluid levels and overall condition are suitable until your next scheduled service.

One of the most important things included in a standard service is an oil change, which helps to make sure that important components in your car’s engine your car’s engine can move freely. Old oil can restrict movement of these parts and over time cause damage.

Comprehensive Car Service

A comprehensive service is advised every 20,000 miles or every two years, depending on which comes sooner. The comprehensive service includes all the checks and fluid changes of a standard service and adds wheel balance and alignment checks, spark plug changes and a change of fuel and air filters. Changing these components at appropriate intervals can help make sure that clean air goes into the engine and can spark efficiently when required, meaning that your engine continues to run smoothly.

Car Maintenance Servicing from £79. *The price stated is based on a standard service for a 1.4 Vauxhall Astra (petrol engine) 2004. Price of service is not inclusive of Long life (Platinum or Iridium) spark plugs. If required, the option to replace these will be offered by our centre and an additional charge will be made.

More Information

Spark Plug Changes

Spark plugs need to be replaced regularly, but less frequently than oil. Most modern day spark plug manufacturers advise that their spark plugs need to be changed approximately every 20,000 miles.

There are a number of reasons why you should replace your spark plugs; over time they can build-up deposits and cause misfiring because they cannot reliably deliver the spark needed to cause the explosion needed as part of an engine’s cycle. Sometimes the wires themselves connected to the plugs can become worn, causing reduced effectiveness or premature failure.

Our comprehensive service includes Four standard spark plugs.

Which car service do I need?

As a rule of thumb, standard services are recommended once a year or every 10,000 miles and comprehensive services are advised every two years or 20,000 miles. These are the general guidelines agreed on by most vehicle manufacturers and are suitable for most drivers.

Drivers that cover long distances annually or driving older cars may need to carry out these services more frequently still, or include different car services at the same time. For most vehicles it is recommended that you check the owner’s handbook to see what services are recommended and at what intervals. If you an unsure which service your car needs, a comprehensive service is usually advised.
