How do I know if my exhaust needs replacing?
Exhaust systems are prone to damage from plenty of different sources, whether they come from external knocks and bumps or from corrosion caused by the age of the vehicle. For that reason, it’s recommended to check your exhaust pipe for physical damage at least once every 10,000 miles, or once a year- whichever comes around first.
Your car’s exhaust system may show some tell-tale signs of failure that indicate repair work or a replacement that you may notice, including:
- Excessive smoke coming from the exhaust
- Louder engine noise while driving
- A knocking or rattling sound indicating something may have come loose
- Visible holes
- A low-hanging or dragging pipe

How much does it cost to fix exhaust?
The sections of your exhaust system that are broken will directly impact the cost of repair, as such costs can vary substantially.
You may be tempted to temporarily fix whatever problem your exhaust has. One example could be using Exhaust paste. This is something we would advise against doing as it could cause much more damage and leave you with a bigger bill to pay in the future.
If you suspect part your exhaust system is broken getting it to a centre near you for a free, no obligation full inspection will be the best course of action.
